# Rikuy for Lorex recorders.

Many Lorex recorders are built by Dahua, so Rikuy reaches them with the Dahua driver. This page gets its own tested list after launch.

## Models we are testing.

Lorex models are on our test plan after the first Hikvision and Dahua units. Tell us your model and we check it with you.

## How Rikuy talks to it.

Same method as Dahua: snapshot.cgi for frames, mediaFileFind.cgi and loadfile.cgi for recordings, RTSP for live and playback. Some Lorex firmware renames menus; the setup guide shows both names.

The Bridge sits on the store network and calls these on the recorder. Nothing reaches the recorder from the internet.

### What to turn on in the recorder

   Create a user for RikuyA low-privilege user. Its password stays encrypted on the Bridge.

   Keep RTSP onIn network settings. Leave the rest of the recorder as it is.
3. 3

   Switch off smart codecsPlain H.264 or H.265 lets the Bridge cut clips cleanly.

During the private demo we do this with you on a video call. It takes about ten minutes.

## Known limits, said plainly.

### Check the exact model

Firmware and menus differ between Lorex lines. The check tells us which driver fits yours before you pay.

### Cloud-only Lorex cameras

Cameras that only talk to the Lorex cloud, with no recorder, are not supported in v1.
