# rikuy

REE-kooy
/ˈɾi.kuj/
Quechua · verb

To see. To notice. To look after.

In Quechua, rikuy means to see with your own eyes, and by extension to notice, to understand and to take care of. Said as a command, it means: look.

Two syllables, the stress on the first. The r is a single tap, like in "pero".

## We chose the verb for seeing. Not the one for watching.

Quechua has another verb, qhaway, for looking on purpose, keeping watch. One of its senses is to watch someone without them knowing. We didn't want that word.

Rikuy is seeing and realizing. It's what a person does when they notice something is off and go take care of it.

## In the Andes, the one who watched the fields wasn't a guard. He was a caretaker.

The arariwa kept birds away from a family's crops. He looked so that what belonged to others would be fine at harvest. That's the posture we want for Rikuy: looking to take care of a business, and of the people who work in it.

Video protects the honest employee too. A clear record of what happened at the register is better for everyone than a hunch.

## Small businesses already record everything. Almost nobody looks.

Owners pay for cameras, a recorder and the hard drive. Then the video sits there until something goes wrong, and by then it's usually too late to notice the pattern.

## Rikuy puts the eyes. Your agent puts the intelligence.

Owners already talk to Claude, ChatGPT, Grok or Muse about their business. Those agents can reason and use tools. They just can't see the store.

So we don't build another AI that watches your cameras. We give the one you already trust a way to look, only where and when you allow it. Rikuy doesn't detect, count or recognize anyone.

Quechua has a small suffix, -mi, for things you know because you saw them yourself. That's what Rikuy gives your agent: first-hand evidence instead of a guess.

Did the car at pump 4 pay before it left?

Yes. The driver walked in at 3:18 AM and came back with a receipt. No drive-off.

## How we keep looking honest.

Three principles shape every screen and every tool your agent can call.

agent looking

### Glass is permission.

Every camera sits behind glass. A liquid lens means your agent is looking now. Clear is allowed, frosted is off, solid is blocked. Cut all access fogs everything.

### Your video stays put.

It lives on your recorder. Rikuy fetches only the minutes your agent asks for, keeps one small thumbnail per look, and clip links expire in 24 hours.

### Every look is logged.

No image leaves without a record of which agent asked, for what and with which permission. If the record fails, the look fails.

## What Rikuy will never do.

These aren't settings. They're how the product is built.

never

### Listen

The Bridge drops the audio track at the source. No tool returns sound.

never

### Recognize faces

There is no tool for it, and our instructions tell agents to describe facts, not identify people.

never

### Look into restrooms

Restrooms and changing areas are blocked. The Bridge never asks the recorder for those channels.

never

### Keep your video

Your recordings stay on your recorder. We keep a thumbnail per look for 30 days and the log for 12 months.

never

### Decide about a person

Your agent reports what it saw. Any decision about someone is yours, after you review the clip.

never

### Watch in secret

No camera turns on for agents until your employee notice and store sign are posted.

## We want owners to see their business clearly, and their teams to know exactly how.

Rikuy is built by Andrés, based in Colombia, who leads product and engineering, and Sebastián Rojo, founder of Emilia Vision, which builds AI for restaurants. Restaurants stay with Emilia Vision; Rikuy covers the other small businesses with cameras on the wall.
